T5W- Favorite Couples

Hey, guys! It's Natalie here with another Top 5 Wednesday. Today's topic is favorite couples and I have been waiting for this topic since forever. I have a lot of favorite couples so it was sincerely difficult to narrow it down to five. So without further ado, let's get down to business. 5. Elizabeth and Darcy, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen    I love the fact that these two at first did not want anything to do with each other. The way Darcy acts towards Elizabeth in the beginning is proof of his aristocratic upbringing. Elizabeth tries to see the good in him, but ends up exasperated by his constant sense of superiority. After a while they both see that they are not different in any way and that they truly love each other. I didn't like the round-about way that Jane Austen wrote the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy, but it did show some clear dynamic to their lives. 4. Katniss and Peeta, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins I loved their slow budding

Ruby Red (Ruby Red #1) by Kerstin Gier I hope you enjoy this list and let me know what your top red covers are.

Enough said.  Summary:  Celia Reynolds is the youngest in a set of triplets and the one with the least valuable power. Anne can see the future, and Jane can see the present, but all Celia can see is the past. And the past seems so insignificant -- until Celia meets Lo. Lo doesn't know who she is. Or who she was. Once a human, she is now almost entirely a creature of the sea -- a nymph, an ocean girl, a mermaid -- all terms too pretty for the soulless monster she knows she's becoming. Lo clings to shreds of her former self, fighting to remember her past, even as she's tempted to embrace her dark immortality. When a handsome boy named Jude falls off a pier and into the ocean, Celia and Lo work together to rescue him f

Blood and Chocolate

Title:  Blood and Chocolate Author: Annette Curtis Klause  Genre: Young Adult Paranormal Published: September 1994 ( first published January 1997)  Medium Read In: Mass Market Paperback  Pages: 264 Rating: 3.5 Why I Read It: This book has been in my shelves for quite awhile, so I decided it was just time to read it. Plus, it's a book about werewolves.  Summary:  Vivian Gandillon relishes the change, the sweet, fierce ache that carries her from girl to wolf. At sixteen, she is beautiful and strong, and all the young wolves are on her tail. But Vivian still grieves for her dead father; her pack remains leaderless and in disarray, and she feels lost in the suburbs of Maryland. She longs for a normal life. But what is normal for a werewolf? Then Vivian falls in love with a human, a meat-boy. Aiden is kind and gentle, a welcome relief from the squabbling pack. He’s fascinated by magic, and Vivian longs to reveal herself to him. Surely he would understand her a

Suspicion

Title: Suspicion Author: Alexandra Monir Genre: Young Adult Mystery/ Gothic Paranormal Published: December 9, 2014 Medium Read In: E-book hardcover/ document Pages: 368 Rating: 5 Why I Read It: Thanks to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for sending me this advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I also love Alexandra Monir's writing style. Summary:  Mysterious. Magnificent. Creepy. Welcome to Rockford Manor. "There's something hidden in the Maze." Seventeen-year-old Imogen has never forgotten the last words her father said to her seven years ago, before the blazing fire that consumed him, her mother, and the gardens of her family's English country manor. T5W- Top 5 Female Characters

Hello fellow readers! So today is another Top 5 Wednesday topic as put in the title of this post: Top 5 Female Characters. I will include the Goodreads group link here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday. I absolutely love this topic since I have a lot of female characters that I truly admire throughout stand-alones or series. So let's get onto the list. 5. Allyson "Lu-Lu" Healey from Just One Day  by Gayle Forman Allyson's journey to discover who exactly she is after the whole Willem incident was understandable, but I found her character to be really weak from the beginning. She wasn't able to get past what happened to her to the point her grades suffered and her personal relationships with her friend and family were strained. If she had been able to pick herself up after the whole thing before she took that Shakespeare class then I probably would have liked her more. 4.    Tally from the Uglies series   by Scott Westerfeld Tal

Top 5 Non-YA Books

So, I'm going to do something totally different here. As you all know, I also have a Booktube channel on Youtube and I do book reviews and other stuff on there. I have also done some Top 5 Wednesday videos. I decided that I will start putting those videos on this blog as well. Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead I read this because a friend recommended it to me. I only technically read YA books, so I wasn't all too comfortable reading this since there is a lot of mature content in here. I'm pretty sure that I might get back to this at a later date. 4. A Little Princess by Francis Hodgson Burnett I love this book. I read this when I was like 12 and I completely fell in love with the story. Sara's strength throughout all the ordeals she has to face never wavered for even a moment, even when

Here is the link for the group: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/136419-little-book-club Summary:  Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.  The hot alien living next door marks me. You he

Suddenly thrust into a world where handsome warriors command the power of nature and peoples thoughts and actions can be manipulated at will, Mia and Dino struggle to navigate their own allegiances and do what they know to be right, even when everything around them seems beyond their control. Evanescent

Title: Evanescent Author: Gabriella Lepore Genre: Young Adult Fantasy Published: March 2013 Medium Read In: Kindle e-book Pages: 164 Rating: 4.5 Why I Read It: I watch Benjaminoftomes on Youtube and he talked about Gabriella Lepore as being an Indie author, so I thought it would be good to check it out. Blog Updates

Hey guys! It's Natalie here after what feels like forever! So just to let you know, (I probably should have done this post last week), I'm currently on vacation. I will not be posting anything, except for this, until I go back home. I haven't really been reading as much due to all the preparations for my trip. So there is the first update. Update #2: I will now be posting what I'm currently reading from now on. I have decided to do this due to the fact that I have noticed that there are large time gaps in between each post. This way you will know what I'm reading in between posts each month. Update #3: As I'm sure you all know, I have recently joined the Booktube community. Since I'm also vlogging about books, I will be putting my review videos on here too. I find that it might be a good thing to do this. So that's all the updates I have for now. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer and for those of you who are back in school, good luck for t

The Fault in Our Stars

Title: The Fault in Our Stars Author: John Green Genre: Contemporary Published: January 2012 Medium Read In: Hardcover Pages: 318 Rating: 5 Why I Read It: I wanted to read it before the movie came out, (which I did) and to see what all the hype was about. Summary:  Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten. Review: A total tearjerker and a book that gives you all the feels. I loved this book completely and could not put it down. Hazel and Augustus's story was moving, completely pulling you in without even trying. Never have I laughed and cried so much over a book until I read this. Beautifully written, John Green is a master of contemporary novels, (considering that this is my first

Delirium

Title: Delirium (Delirium #1) Author: Lauren Oliver Genre: Young Adult Dystopian Published: February 2012 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 441 Rating: 4 Why I Read It: I was curious to what all the good ratings were about.  Summary:  Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't. Review: This book reminded me a lot like Matched  by Allie Condie, in which the government systems are slightly alike. The only difference is that love still exists in Matched  whereas it does not exist in this book. I found it difficult to relate to Lena in anyway until the end of the novel. Lena&#

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Title: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #1) Author: Michelle Hodkin Genre: Mystery/Paranormal Published: September 2011 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 452 Rating: 5 Summary:  Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can. She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed. There is. She doesn't believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love. She’s wrong. Review:  A suspenseful, page-turner of a book. I have never been more intrigued by a book as much as I was with this. The book has you questioning what is real and what is a delusion. Mara's journey to find out the truth about what happened the night her friends died impacts the way you look at reality. The whole plot sucks you in and takes you on a wild ride. This was amazing and I can't wait to read the res
