T5W- Top 5 Female Characters

Hello fellow readers! So today is another Top 5 Wednesday topic as put in the title of this post: Top 5 Female Characters. I will include the Goodreads group link here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/118368-top-5-wednesday. I absolutely love this topic since I have a lot of female characters that I truly admire throughout stand-alones or series. So let's get onto the list.

5. Allyson "Lu-Lu" Healey from Just One Day by Gayle Forman
17623975

Allyson's journey to discover who exactly she is after the whole Willem incident was understandable, but I found her character to be really weak from the beginning. She wasn't able to get past what happened to her to the point her grades suffered and her personal relationships with her friend and family were strained. If she had been able to pick herself up after the whole thing before she took that Shakespeare class then I probably would have liked her more.

4.  Tally from the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld

24770

Tally's character was a little weak in the beginning, but she definitely improved as the series went on. Even after her surgery to get pretty, she was a pretty cool character. I might have to re-read the entire series in order to see what her improvement was like, but I still like Tally pretty much.

3. Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

2767052

Katniss is the epitome of a kick-ass heroine in a dystopian novel. Enough said.

2. Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

3

I love Hermione! She's smart, funny, and kind. She could have been in Ravenclaw house, but Griffindor is lucky to have someone like her.

1. Arya from the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

Arya is a bad-ass character throughout all four books. I love how even though she shuts down Eragon's advances, she's still willing to be his friend and continues to save his life. I will continue to love Arya for years to come since this is my favorite fantasy series of all time.

So, there you have it, my top 5 female characters. I hope you guys like this list and let me know in the comments who are your top 5 female characters. Bye.

Five Tips to Get Out of a Reading Slump

Hey fellow readers! So seeing as I've been in a bit of an off-and-on reading slump for the past couple of months, I decided that I'll give you a few tips to help you all get out of a slump when you find yourselves in one. Without further preamble, here are five tips to out of a reading slump. 1.  Do Something Else: Sometimes after a really good/emotional/powerful book, it's easy to fall into a reading slump. Doing something else- whether it be playing video games or watching t.v.- can be a worthwhile break from reading. A break from reading can sometimes help to reignite the passion to read. 2. Get a Change of Scenery: Reading in the same spot all the time can cause a reading slump. So go find a new spot to read! Be it in the kitchen, the living room, or outside. Reading in a different place can be very beneficial to keep from falling into a slump. 3. Find a New Genre to Read: When reading the same genre over and over again, it causes a reading slump due to reading th...

Delirium

Title: Delirium (Delirium #1) Author: Lauren Oliver Genre: Young Adult Dystopian Published: February 2012 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 441 Rating: 4 Why I Read It: I was curious to what all the good ratings were about.  Summary:  Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't. Review: This book reminded me a lot like Matched  by Allie Condie, in which the government systems are slightly alike. The only difference is that love still exists in Matched  whereas it does not exist in this book. I found it difficult to relate to Lena in anyway until the end of the novel. Lena...
