Five Tips to Get Out of a Reading Slump

Hey fellow readers! So seeing as I've been in a bit of an off-and-on reading slump for the past couple of months, I decided that I'll give you a few tips to help you all get out of a slump when you find yourselves in one. Without further preamble, here are five tips to out of a reading slump. 1. Do Something Else: Sometimes after a really good/emotional/powerful book, it's easy to fall into a reading slump. Doing something else- whether it be playing video games or watching t.v.- can be a worthwhile break from reading. A break from reading can sometimes help to reignite the passion to read. 2. Get a Change of Scenery: Reading in the same spot all the time can cause a reading slump. So go find a new spot to read! Be it in the kitchen, the living room, or outside. Writing Wednesday | "Rolling Hills and Mighty Mountains"

This is something I wrote for a contest of some type for figment.com. I just love this one a lot because it's based off a vacation I took years ago. Hope you all enjoy! It started out as any vacation would. A long car drive down the highway watching other cars zoom by and making shapes out of the clouds. Sometimes I would sleep, but other times I would imagine being anywhere else than in the car. Grandpa would look at me in the rear view mirror from time to time as he drove, but I paid no special attention to his glances. Why should I?
