Writing Wednesday | Poem: Who I Am

I wrote this back as an assignment for my Creative Writing class my Junior year. I haad a lot of fun with this one and I hope you guys like it. Enjoy! Who I Am I am me not you not anyone. I dream of a life that is mine to control and not others. I create whole worlds with my pen when I write. In Sleeping Beauty’s castle the clock strikes one hundred years and the girl in the tower returns to the world. Is that what I am? Sleeping Beauty awakening after one hundred years? I am no princess and no damsel in distress. I love who I am not what my parents try to make me. I live in a world where everything round is good: the sun, wheels, cookies, and the princess. But still I love who I am no matter what anyone says. Angels are pure and sweet not evil or unkind. I pointed to a place where kids had made angels in the snow. For some reason, I told him that a troop of angels had been shot and dissolved before they hit the ground. Maybe...

Writing Wednesday | Monolouge: Coming Clean

*Sorry for the two no posts. I am still going to be keeping to schedule as much as I can though. On Friday, there will be two posts so I hope you enjoy that.* This monolouge I wrote back in my high school Creative Writing class. I would like to point out that this is not exactly light-hearted as it deals with the topic of depression. I wrote this as a reflection of my own battle with depression, though the main character's situation is different to mine. I hope you all enjoy this. Coming Clean ( Katelyn sits back against her bedroom door, razor poised over her wrist. Above her loud music, she hears her pounding on the door. She puts the razor down and pounds on the door, yelling. ) Will you two quit it! I’m trying to study!( whispers ) Why does everyone start worrying so much? It’s not like I’m swallowing a bottle of pills or shooting myself. Cutting myself is a way for me to release my anger.( softly ) Maybe I’m lying to myself of why I cut myself. Maybe I turned it int...

Writing Wednesday | Poem: Circle

*Note: Sorry for the no posting on Friday and Monday. Those two days were really hectic.* This is the first poem I ever officially wrote. I wrote it years ago for my grandparents' wedding anniversary when I was about 8 or 9. This poem has a really special place in my heart because it was the first real writing piece that spaeked my love for writing. So without further ado, here is the poem! Circle We are a circle forever We live in a world together Where life is a beacon For us to follow unwavering Through day and night Never to be away And sweet nectar life is To hope we may have I know that life is always Full of darkness and light To any hope we yearn Love is a gift we need Since there is nothing better As a circle we hope For a better life We are a circle forever We live in a world together

Writing Wednesday | Poem: Fairy Child

I love this piece and I hope you do too. Fairy Child Like a lonely passing thought the girl felt the summer breeze that accompanied the night surrounded by the dark she sat in the garden watching the fairy blooms sway in the wind. Pretty blooms from her thought world of a fairy garden with her hair fluttering in the breeze outlined by the dark starry night She began walking into the night surrounded by the fragrant blooms dancing in the dark I wonder where I’ll go. she thought as the gentle breeze followed her from the garden Leaving behind the garden engulfed in the night followed by the breeze she smelled of exotic blooms to those who thought she was a creature of the dark The girl continued in the dark passing many a garden ...

Life Update + Blog Plans

Hello fellow readers! Sorry for not updating in a while. Life has been pretty busy and I haven't had time to just sit and post reviews and what not. I've also been in a really bad place mentally for the last few months and I didn't feel like blogging about anything. I've been in the biggest reading slump because of it. Thankfully, I am now feeling much better and will be posting on here again.  Starting Wednesday, October 5th, I will be posting a review. The review will be the first post of mine that will go back to the schedule of posting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I will also now be posting not only reviews, but also monthly wrap-ups, book hauls, my own original writings (that will be only on Wednesdays after the 5th), and any unboxings that I do. Some of the posts will be linked with anything that I put on my YouTube channel, but most will not. If at any time I am unable to post on schedule, I will let you know the reason for not posting.  Thank you al...
