Blog Updates

Hey guys! It's Natalie here after what feels like forever! So just to let you know, (I probably should have done this post last week), I'm currently on vacation. I will not be posting anything, except for this, until I go back home. I haven't really been reading as much due to all the preparations for my trip. So there is the first update. Update #2: I will now be posting what I'm currently reading from now on. I have decided to do this due to the fact that I have noticed that there are large time gaps in between each post. This way you will know what I'm reading in between posts each month. Update #3: As I'm sure you all know, I have recently joined the Booktube community. Since I'm also vlogging about books, I will be putting my review videos on here too. I find that it might be a good thing to do this. So that's all the updates I have for now. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer and for those of you who are back in school, good luck for t...

The Fault in Our Stars

Title: The Fault in Our Stars Author: John Green Genre: Contemporary Published: January 2012 Medium Read In: Hardcover Pages: 318 Rating: 5 Why I Read It: I wanted to read it before the movie came out, (which I did) and to see what all the hype was about. Summary:  Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten. Review: A total tearjerker and a book that gives you all the feels. I loved this book completely and could not put it down. Hazel and Augustus's story was moving, completely pulling you in without even trying. Never have I laughed and cried so much over a book until I read this. Beautifully written, John Green is a master of contemporary novels, (considering that this is my first...

Delirium

Title: Delirium (Delirium #1) Author: Lauren Oliver Genre: Young Adult Dystopian Published: February 2012 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 441 Rating: 4 Why I Read It: I was curious to what all the good ratings were about.  Summary:  Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't. Review: This book reminded me a lot like Matched  by Allie Condie, in which the government systems are slightly alike. The only difference is that love still exists in Matched  whereas it does not exist in this book. I found it difficult to relate to Lena in anyway until the end of the novel. Lena...

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer

Title: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #1) Author: Michelle Hodkin Genre: Mystery/Paranormal Published: September 2011 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 452 Rating: 5 Summary:  Mara Dyer doesn't think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there. It can. She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed. There is. She doesn't believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love. She’s wrong. Review:  A suspenseful, page-turner of a book. I have never been more intrigued by a book as much as I was with this. The book has you questioning what is real and what is a delusion. Mara's journey to find out the truth about what happened the night her friends died impacts the way you look at reality. The whole plot sucks you in and takes you on a wild ride. This was amazing and I can...

Oh. My. Gods.

When Phoebe's mom returns from Greece with a new husband and moves them to an island in the Aegean, Phoebe's plans for her senior year and track season are ancient history. That's right, they're real, not myth, and their teen descendants are like the classical heroes: supersmart and super beautiful with a few superpowers. And now they're on her track team! Armed only with her Nikes and the will to win, Phoebe races to find her place among the gods. Review: This book was hilarious! I could not stop laughing. Phoebe's plight and...

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for not adhering to the schedule I posted a few weeks ago. I've been busy trying to come up with a video for my Youtube channel. I am now joining other Booktubers to spread the joy of reading around. But you will be getting a review tonight, so thank you all for understanding and I'll get to the post.
