Why I Read It: I loved Sacrificed and I was lucky to be able to participate in the blog tour!

Review: I definitely didn’t see any of what happened in this book coming at all! I have read many sequels in a fantasy series that weren’t as good as the first book, but this completely blew Sacrificed out of the park! I loved every battle, every decision made, and the romance. Ah Riece! I have been waiting for this book for a while and I wasn’t expecting anything from it. It was truly a great sequel. Emily Wibberley surely does know how to write a fantasy novel that makes the reader completely fall in love with it.
Clio is one of my favorite characters in this series.
We finally get to see her in the position of the Oracle and how that position
helps her to help her city. She does struggle a bit with the expectations that
serving the Deities implies, but she does the best that she can. I love the
fact that even when her Visions were being manipulated, she still had her
sights set on saving Sheehan. I did want to yell at her to just accept the fact
that she truly still love Riece, but I understand why she so adamantly refused.
Clio does find out more on what exactly being the Oracle entails, but I hope
that her decision in the end doesn’t end up costing her life.
I love Riece, I really do. I can understand why he was
mad at Clio for an entire year. But what I did not like was when he just shows
up in Sheehan with a princess he’s engaged to. A PRINCESS!!!! I digress. I
still admire Riece for being a good commander and being loyal to his friend the
Emperor. He hides his pain well, but you can tell that he really was hurt by
Clio’s rejection. He had loved her and she rejected him to keep him safe. I
laughed whenever there was a part in the book when he would be talking to Derik
because you can tell that even though he was hiding his pain, Riece loved Clio
and Derik knew it. Riece is an amazing character and I can’t wait to see how
his storyline progresses.
Overall, this book was the greatest sequel I have ever
read in a fantasy series and that is saying a lot. I cannot wait for the third
book! This series has everything I love in a fantasy series. I cannot wait to
find out how everything goes and what will happen to all my favorite
characters. Emily Wibberley is an amazing writer whose work I will continue to
read.
