Title: Delirium (Delirium #1) Author: Lauren Oliver Genre: Young Adult Dystopian Published: February 2012 Medium Read In: Paperback Pages: 441 Rating: 4 Why I Read It: I was curious to what all the good ratings were about. Summary: Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. Review: This book reminded me a lot like Matched by Allie Condie, in which the government systems are slightly alike. Hey fellow readers! So seeing as I've been in a bit of an off-and-on reading slump for the past couple of months, I decided that I'll give you a few tips to help you all get out of a slump when you find yourselves in one. Without further preamble, here are five tips to out of a reading slump. 1. Do Something Else: Sometimes after a really good/emotional/powerful book, it's easy to fall into a reading slump. Doing something else- whether it be playing video games or watching t.v.- can be a worthwhile break from reading. A break from reading can sometimes help to reignite the passion to read. 2. Get a Change of Scenery: Reading in the same spot all the time can cause a reading slump. So go find a new spot to read! Be it in the kitchen, the living room, or outside.
