Why I Read It: I heard a lot of good things about it and I wanted to check out what all the hype was. Also, this book was on my to be read list so this seemed like no problem and I lover Lauren Kate as an author.
Summary:Never, ever cry... Seventeen-year-old Eureka won't let anyone close enough to feel her pain. After her mother was killed in a freak accident, the things she used to love hold no meaning. She wants to escape, but one thing holds her back: Ander, the boy who is everywhere she goes, whose turquoise eyes are like the ocean. And then Eureka uncovers an ancient tale of romance and heartbreak, about a girl who cried an entire continent into the sea. Suddenly her mother's death and Ander's appearance seem connected, and her life takes on dark undercurrents that don't make sense. Can everything you love be washed away?
Review: One word: Amazing!!!!!! Lauren Kate has again written a compelling story with many different plot twists. Eureka is one great narrator and her internal struggle with her emotions is something readers will be able to relate to. From losing her mom in a horrible accident to finding out she is part of some ancient prophecy about the return of Atlantis, Eureka overcomes it all. Throughout the story, she tries to piece together what her inheritance from her mother means and their importance. I was amazed by the plot and the characters that I could not put this book down. I cannot wait to read the next books in this trilogy.
