The Gatekeeper's Sons

Title: The Gatekeeper's Sons (Gatekeeper's Saga #1) Author: Eva Pohler Genre: Fantasy Published: August 2012 Medium Read In: E-book Pages: 357 Rating:  4 Why I Read It: I like Greek mythology so this was a no brainer for me. Summary: Fifteen-year-old Therese watches her parents die. While in a coma, she meets the twin sons of Hades—Hypnos (the god of sleep) and Thanatos (the god of death). She thinks she's manipulating a dream, not kissing the god of death and totally rocking his world. Than makes a deal with Hades and goes as a mortal to the Upperworld to try and win Therese's heart, but not all the gods are happy. Some give her gifts. Others try to kill her. The deal requires Therese to avenge the death of her parents. With the help of Than’s fierce and exotic sisters, the Furies, she finds herself in an arena face to face with the murderer, and only one will survive. Review: This book was good in the sense that this isn't your normal Greek

Just One Day

Title: Just One Day (Just One Day #1) Author: Gayle Forman Genre: Contemporary Published: January 2013 Medium Read In: Hardcover Pages: 368 Rating: 5 Why I Read It: I came across this book several times when I went to the library so I decided to check it out. Summary: When sheltered American good girl Allyson "LuLu" Healey first meets laid-back Dutch actor Willem De Ruiter at an underground performance of Twelfth Night in England, there’s an undeniable spark. After just one day together, that spark bursts into a flame, or so it seems to Allyson, until the following morning, when she wakes up after a whirlwind day in Paris to discover that Willem has left. Over the next year, Allyson embarks on a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, and through Shakespeare, travel, and a quest for her almost-true-love, to break free of those confines. Review: I'm not a big fan of contemporary novels, yet I really loved this book. Allyson&

Title : Six Moon Summer (Seasons of the Moon #1) Author : S.M. Reine Genre : Paranormal/Fantasy Published : April 2011 Medium Read In: E-book Pages: 198 Rating: 3.5 Why I Read It: I got this on my Kindle for free (how I always get my e-books). This is one of the 140+ books on my e-reader, so I'm trying to make a dent in the list. One of the 11 books I have read on my Kindle. Summary:  Rylie's been bitten. She's changing. And now she has three months to find a cure before becoming a werewolf... forever. Rylie Gresham hates everything about summer camp: the food, the fresh air, the dumb activities, and the other girls in her cabin. But the worst part is probably being bitten by a werewolf. Being a teenager is hard enough, but now she's craving raw flesh and struggles with uncontrollable anger. If she doesn't figure out a way to stop the transformation, then at the end of summer, her life is worse than over. She'll be a monster. Review: I love th

Welcome to Book Blitz!

Welcome to the new blog! After having "Calling All Teens" for about four years and only having one real follower, I have decided to revamp the blog. So I have given it a new name and look. I will also be reviewing both e-books and hardcopy books. I am not altogether sure that all the e-books that I have on my Kindle can be gotten on the Nook, so for those of you with a Nook, I apologize now. All the summaries and the cover pictures for the books will come from Goodreads.com. I will take book recommendations, suggestions, and feedback.  This is my new start for the new year. I hope you like it!
